Working in and around the earthworks industry, I kept running into the same thing: moving dirt cost a fortune — and almost none of that cost had anything to do with the dirt itself. Clean fill is effectively worthless. It's the phone calls, the chasing, the not knowing who needs what or where, and the people sitting in the middle that pile on the expense. Fix the logistics, and most of those costs simply disappear.
So I set out to close that gap. ReadyFill connects the people who have fill directly with the people who need it — no runaround, no guesswork, no one skimming the middle.
An industry built on a broken habit
Plenty of operators have embraced the change. Others prefer the old way — because the old way lets some of the poor practices baked into this industry carry on unchecked. Contractors still charge their clients tip fees while quietly offloading the same material at a free tip site down the road, and pocketing the difference.
It works because most people are never shown how the price is built. When you don't know that clean fill can be offloaded for free, you've no reason to question the invoice — and so the cycle rolls on, with everyday property owners footing the bill.
Where we go from here
