Need Fill Brought In? How Our Network Can Cut the Cost

If you are raising a low block, building a house pad, filling a dam or levelling a yard, you have probably already priced fill. And you have probably winced.

Here is the thing: somewhere near you, right now, there is very likely a job paying good money to get rid of material that might suit you.

Two jobs, one wasted cost

Excavation jobs generate surplus material every day — footings, pools, basements, driveways, civil work. The business doing that work has to put it somewhere, and if they don’t know anywhere better, they pay to tip it.

At the same time, a landowner a few suburbs away is paying to buy fill. Connect the two and the cost of bringing material in can drop to very little, or nothing at all.

How ReadyFill finds it

ReadyFill’s network connects businesses that have fill with sites that need it. When you come to us needing material, we search the network for suitable fill coming out of jobs nearby, matched to what your site needs, how much you need and when.

Our procurement service then helps coordinate the rest: the timing, the communication with the other job, and, if you need them, verified contractors and trucks to move it and machines to spread it.

Know what you are getting

Fill from another job is raw material straight out of the ground. It hasn’t been screened or washed, so the odd bit of brick, concrete or root mixed through is normal and nothing to worry about. A load that is full of foreign material, or shows signs of genuine contamination like fuel, chemicals or asbestos, is a different story and shouldn’t be accepted.

If your project needs a particular type of fill or has engineering requirements, say so up front. Where suitability needs proving, the material should be tested. For anything structural, check with your engineer, and for any approvals, check with your council.

Why it usually beats buying in

  • The material often costs little or nothing, because the other job is saving on its tip fees.
  • It often comes from close by, so transport is shorter.
  • You aren’t paying a margin on top for someone else to organise it.

And if it doesn’t?

It will. That is our price promise: we will either match the price you have been quoted for fill, or make your job cheaper.
