Plan Ahead, Pay Less: Forward Scheduling for Builders and Developers

Plan Ahead, Pay Less: Forward Scheduling for Builders and Developers

Most earthworks problems are solved in a hurry. The machine is on site, the material is coming out, and somebody suddenly needs to find somewhere for it to go by tomorrow. When you are in a rush, you take whatever is available. That is rarely the cheapest option.

Rush jobs cost more

Leave it to the last minute and the good, close sites may already be taken. The fallback is the commercial tip, the longer drive and the tip fee. Every one of those costs could have been avoided with a bit of notice.

What forward scheduling looks like

With ReadyFill’s procurement service, you can tell us about upcoming work well before the material needs to move: where the job is, roughly what is coming out or going in, how much and when. We then look for receiving sites and fill supply ahead of time, check they are suitable and line them up against your dates.

For builders and developers running several jobs, we can look across all of them together. Fill coming out of one project might be exactly what another one needs a month later.

Why early is cheaper

  • More choice. The earlier we start, the more of the network we can draw on, and the closer the site we can usually find.
  • Less idle time. Trucks and machines aren’t sitting around while someone hunts for a site.
  • Fewer surprises. Site conditions, access and paperwork get sorted before the job starts, not halfway through.

Held isn’t the same as confirmed

When we find a site for your job, we hold it for you so nobody else takes it, and offer it to you to accept or decline. The site owner isn’t told anything until you have said yes. Then a real person rings them, usually the day before, to confirm. Only once a site is confirmed is it ready for trucks, and only then is its address released to you.

We are clear about that because a held site and a confirmed site are different things, and treating one like the other is how trucks end up at a locked gate.

Our price promise

Our price promise: we will either match the price you have, or make your job cheaper. Planning ahead just gives us more room to make it cheaper.

Verified people doing the work

If the job needs extra trucks or machines, we source verified, professional contractors from our network, lined up alongside the sites. If you have your own crew, we work around them.
